    The Shrieking Clock

No photograph for this one however I felt it was a good one to share. This poem is for anyone fighting their darkness trying to make it back to the light. Keep going! You were meant for so much more than hiding yourself from the world. You can and will overcome this night. Everyone falls into times where it seems there is no hope. I’m living proof that there is always hope! Keep climbing that mountain, trust me the view is so worth it.

    You Will Soar Again

So many people in this world deal with depression and feel like they are at the end of their world. They look for a kind face only to find people that don’t understand and in turn make them feel worse. I have lived this life for many years. I have too been in the dark corners of my mind and felt there was no one in this world who understood and only felt judged and shamed for being different and too emotional. Trauma has a way of reminding you of what you are not and depression has a way of making that feeling feel like there is no hope. It…

    Shadows of Doubt

So many times in life self-doubt steals our voice and keeps us from experiencing joy. I have lived many years overthinking and dwelling in my own doubts and fears. It takes a tremendous amount of determination to pull yourself back to the light when you have hidden yourself in your own darkness for years. This picture was shot in Dauphin Island, Alabama, the way the sun is brining the water and sky back to light is a gentle reminder that after every night the sun will always rise again. If you are in a place of darkness I hope you find your light and keep going. Comment below any thoughts…

    For the Love of Trees

I have loved trees my entire life. The majority of my photography involves trees. The majesty of some trees renders me speechless. To pass a tree cut down or destroyed truly hurts my soul. Trees provide so much for us all and it has always baffled me how so many people are oblivious to their beauty and to how much they are needed for our world. I am impressed by their strength and calmed by their serenity. I love reading under them, picnicking under them and sitting on a bench watching the afternoon sun fade. Do you appreciate the wonders of trees as I do? Let me know in the…

    Burning Bridges

So many times in life we have to choose between removing the wrong people from our life or remaining silent and let it change who we are. There are times we remove people because of mistakes made that go unforgiven or due to establishing hard boundaries to help us grow. It is hard when years pass and you know it was needed but have no clue how to rebuild, especially in a way that doesn’t affect the person you worked very hard to become. Most of the bridges we burn are purposeful and keeps us from traveling back to places we were never supposed to be. What do you think?…

    Stand Out

So many times in life we lose our voice because we think it is better to blend in with everyone else. We start believing that we are the versions of ourselves that others create. We become molded and quiet and conformed. I was reminded of this as I was taking this picture today of one bright flower standing tall. Life is ours to make what we intend it to be, not what others choose for us. May today and every day you choose to be yourself and forge your own path. Always choose kindness and let others know they too can be their authentic self while in your company. How…

    Love Is

I love taking pictures of beautiful skies. On this day I was catching a rainbow and in the process, the clouds formed what looked like a heart. It was a quick reminder that we are surrounded by love everyday. Often we forget how easy it is to purely love others and how to be open to receive others generosity and love. In a world so full of hate it is nice to remember that love exists inside us all and its up to us to show as much love and kindness as we can to as many people possible. Then and only then can we rid this world of the…
