Alright, so we’re officially behind in our deadlines for the month.

Don’t blame us – blame our new friend on the right.

After spending several nights and early, early mornings trying to win over a stray dog at a local park, we finally got close enough to entice our new pal to follow us home. We plan on fostering the new addition only until we can find a new home for her.

Anyone want a blue heeler? She’s about a year old, quite housebroken and super sweet. She also has no microchip in her ear so it’s doubtful we’re going to find her past owner – we suspect she was dumped in the park.

If you’re in the Las Vegas area, give us a call if you’re interested!

UPDATE: “Vilda” has since found a new home in Summerlin, Las Vegas! Thanks for all your emails of support!

Chris and I had a really busy 2010 and for that we are grateful. Now that we have a break, we’re working on updating the website and the blog. This time, the blog development is in Tash’s hands. That explains why it looks a little strange right now . . .

I am out of thank-you notes. I’ve been out for awhile. I should have ordered them with our new logo and our new business cards, ages ago, but for some reason I didn’t. Something clicked for me over the weekend, and I realized, that if I ordered 500 thank you notes that all looked the same, I would be a hypocrite. None of our books are the same. None of our clients are the same and certainly, none of the industry experts we work alongside are the same. So why should everyone receive the same thank-you notecard from us?  Sure, finding that special card for each person will be time consuming, but I know it will be worth it.

Like the 43 different vintage table linens Sasha Souza used in one wedding, it’s a lot more work. But, on the other hand, it’s lot more meaningful. A lot more fun. And more personal. Read the rest of this entry …

A long time ago, I promised to walk you through our Houston couple’s – Lauren and John’s – engagement shoot. Finally, here is part two . . .

Chris and I met up with the happy couple at John’s place, where we snacked on breakfast, sipped Mimosas and conducted our first interview. In a room off of the kitchen, we could see piles of clothes and shopping bags.

“My engagement shoot dress was, ahhhh, unavailable,” Lauren explained. Read the rest of this entry …

I thought heroin-chic went out of style after Kate Moss cleaned up her act, got pregnant and left the runway for the mommy-way. But designer Monique Lhuillier selected pale skin, dark eye circles, waif-like emaciated bodies with bones poking out,  from the cheeks to the chests,to show off her Fall 2010 collection. Seems an interesting aesthetic for her amazing gowns. Talk about deviant art . . . .

Lhuiller‘s platinum collection gowns adorned with embellished tulle, embroidery, lace and beadwork are truly elegant and luxurious. Her gowns are also described as dramatic and “edgy.” But does being “edgy” mean you’ve got to put that incredible gown on a model made up to  look as if she spent the night before ransacking her john’s hotel room  in search of her next fix, then rolled onto the runway just in time to saunter down the aisle before getting fired for showing up late, again?

No. It’s not necessary. Edgy doesn’t have to mean grungy. Smiling, groomed and well-fed models wouldn’t take the edge off Lhuillier‘s exquisite designs. Think Cristie Brinkley, Cindy Crawford, Heidi Klum. Imagine them in these gowns. Better yet, imagine the gowns on them.

When was the last time we saw a bride look this disheveled as she glides down the aisle on her wedding day? When was the last time a bride wasn’t smiling. Come on. The gowns are stunning. Awe-inspiring.  The models should be, too.
