The Empty Bench

This photograph was shot at the Veterans Memorial Park in Baton Rouge. This park is absolutely beautiful and makes for a very nice walk or run on a windy spring day. I often think of the benches that are usually empty as I walk past them and who I would like to sit with for a day. My thoughts went to friends and family who have passed and to people who have drifted out of my life. I think the empty bench concept is one that a lot of poets use to view conversations and emotions that can not be held anymore due to unfortunate circumstances. Let me know if you have felt this way as well.
